A mountain goat manually carved from deer antler by craftspeople in Java, Indonesia, and mounted on a display stand. The artisan uses the antler’s natural curve and tonal variation to give the animal a poised, energetic silhouette.

Mountain goats are admired for agility, resilience and sure-footed determination, giving the sculpture an appealing symbolic character as well as showcasing detailed Javanese handwork.

Unlike horns, deer antlers are naturally shed and regrown each year.
